Mclaren to defend the pride of UK
One of the few automobile companies that not owned by third parties has the heavy reponsibility of trusting the UK auto industry and save and grow the manufacturing base it has in the UK - Mclaren- the proud creators of the Mclaren Mercedes F1 car, the Mclaren MP4-12C and the Mclaren F1 (street car). Though the list is short, its a lot that has gained world popularity faster than any other brand for the time it has come into existence.
They are the only team to put up a consistent fight in the Formula 1 ever since the team made its debut performance. There were only 2 teams before the 90’s that truly competed for the cup, it was either Mclaren or Williams. Besides getting better at formula 1, the other responsibility that the company has to shoulder is to sell the best quality cars world wide. Production in the UK currently accounts to 12% of UK’s production, it is still the biggest and the most vital industry. Heavy reliance on the service industry like banks has left UK vulnerable as it heavy relied on only one source without hedging the risk. Although the UK is no more grounds for cheap labor, but it is grounds for the high technological advancement, specialization of work and coming up the best the technology can offer. Companies like Mclaren are the Brains, china is labor.
Although the UK can no longer produce things like display cabinet furniture for cheap as the labor costs are high, it can at least specialize and focus on areas where other economies cannot excel.
